This is not your average internship - you won't spend your days filing or copying, fetching coffee or putting together PowerPoint presentations. Rather, you'll dive headfirst into solving real problems. At New Relic you are a full member of the legal team, you’ll work closely with New Relic’s in-house contracts, and be provided the opportunity to gain experience in analyzing and drafting legal documents. You will receive a range of exposure to legal matters impacting a SaaS Software Analytics organization.

Some of the stuff you’ll be doing:
  • Researching various legal issues and applying them to contracts and operations of the Company. Areas of focus include commercial law, intellectual property, employment law, and general corporate law.
  • Researching and analyzing of contract provisions and coordination with development of agreement templates.
  • Preparing confidential, services, and other agreements form templates with Legal Department oversight.
  • Updating legal team agreement templates and workflows as requested.
  • Participating in daily operations of a global in-house legal department, including attendance at legal and business team meetings.
  • Potential to provide support on intellectual property projects.

The right candidate will likely have:
  • Current first- or second-year J.D. at ABA-accredited top law school; top 25% of class
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize time-sensitive tasks, with a strong emphasis on quality and client service.
  • Experience in technology preferred, strong interest in technology required.
