Propulsion Development Engineer

This is a challenging role to develop liquid rocket propulsion components and engine systems.  Development engineers will be intimately involved with the products they are assigned to and will be responsible for leading those products through the design, analysis, testing, and flight phases. 

 
Responsibilities:

  • Create test plans, analyze test data
  • Make development decisions based on cost and schedule considerations
  • Communicate results verbally and through written reports. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineer, Aero/Astro Engineering, System Engineering or related engineering discipline is required
  • Experience with development and testing of liquid rocket engines and fluid components
  • Willingness to travel to test sites and launch sites up to 15% of the time

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineer, Aero/Astro Engineering, System Engineering or related engineering discipline is preferred
  • Demonstrable proficiency in the basic principles of compressible and incompressible flow, thermodynamics, thermochemistry, mechanics, and materials. 
  • Candidates with experience in experimental work or research environments are preferred.  Occasional travel to our test facility in Texas may be required to support aggressive test campaign schedules.

ITAR Requirements:

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
