Apprentice Avionics Test Technician (2nd Shift)
Overview:
An Apprentice Avionics Test Technician is responsible for aiding in and performing tests on Avionics components and recording the test results. The Apprentice Technician works side by side with seasoned Test Technicians and Engineers in a state-of-the-art Test lab with environmental test chambers and test equipment. The position is an excellent to starting point to a technical career!
Responsibilities:
- Self-monitor work progress against fast-paced area benchmarks and achieve on time delivery of all work
- Working with design engineers to develop and document test procedures.
- Using a wide range of test equipment including establishing and maintaining specialized test setups.
- Performing tests and recording test results.
- Working with design engineers to troubleshoot failures.
- Conducting tests at external specialist test houses.
- Programming and operating environmental test chambers
- Record work performed on shop floor management system (ERP) as well as use e-mail (MS Outlook).
- Perform verifications of flight hardware and documenting results in a clear, precise and complete manner.
- Assist with the development of production processes for first time production runs.
- Assist with area efficiency and 5S improvement projects
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 3 to 6 months experience with diverse electrical test equipment analog and digital and RF
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- BSEET degree preferred.
- Software skills- LabVIEW or Python desired.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to work 2nd shift, 3:30pm – 2:00am
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Computer skills- familiarity with MS Office suite.
