Editorial Intern
“My model for business is The Beatles. ... They balanced each other and the total was greater than the sum of the parts. That’s how I see business: great things in business are never done by one person, they’re done by a team of people.”
— Steve Jobs
At Artsy, we agree, whether in business or in reaching any collective goal. Within our mission to make art accessible to anyone with an internet connection, the editorial team’s aim is to tell the stories around art and art-making—producing exciting, engaging, and educational context and dialogue around artists and artworks on the site. We’re looking for a motivated and hard-working individual to help us achieve this goal.
Our Requirements:
- You are meticulously organized, skilled with time management, and obsessed with meeting deadlines; and you get a thrill out of working in a fast-paced environment.
- You feel very comfortable undertaking extensive independent research and fact-checking tasks, as well as managing content on a web-based content management system.
- You are a strategic thinker, confident and thoughtful writer, and excited to work collaboratively to support an editorial team.
- You’re interested in learning the ins and outs of analytics and content marketing strategy.
- Your peers would describe you as “humble,” “proactive,” “passionate,” and “driven.”
The ideal candidate will have, or be pursuing, a degree in Art History; but your background isn’t as important as your excitement about being part of a dynamic, close-knit editorial team.
The Editorial Internship is based at our HQ in downtown Manhattan, starts immediately, and is 3 months in length (5 days/week) or a semester (3-4 days/week). This is a paid position.
To apply, please send a cover letter, your CV, and three short art-related writing samples under 300 words each (please no academic papers!), along with a cover letter, to editorialintern@artsy.net.
