HVAC Technician | SpaceX

HVAC Technician, Cape


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in commercial maintenance using equipment for trouble shooting and evaluation at SpaceX locations
  • Operate various hand tools, meters & testing equipment for performing duties related to electrical, refrigerant & hydronics work
  • Perform ductwork modifications and various repairs
  • Perform brazing, soldering, evacuation & charging of various refrigerants
  • Perform water piping and insulation modifications and repairs


Basic Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience as an HVAC technician working on commercial facilities  


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • ARI Certification for HVAC Technician-Type: Universal
  • A working knowledge of HVAC is essential, specifically water-cooled units and knowledge of air flow
  • Understanding of HVAC controls, air filtration, pipefitting and sheet metal installation and repairs
  • Proficient in copper, PVC and T&C piping. Able to run pipe and use the tools necessary
  • Broad HVAC training, using testing equipment, gauges, drawing, schematics, various precision instruments and required tools of the field
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic controls and piping
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company policies, quality policies and industry standards


Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small opening and climbing hand over hand, lifting 50 lbs., and working on ladders/lifts at elevated heights.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed  
  • A positive, energetic attitude
  • Self-motivated and works well with others
