Recruiting Intern
Overview:
- The Talent Acquisition team at SpaceX plays a critical role for the company in finding, identifying, and attracting top talent across the country to join our mission in making humanity multi-planetary. Recruiters at SpaceX bring top notch engineers into the company to help change history and work with the most advances, cutting-edge technology in the world today. The Recruiting Intern will assist with recruiting projects, learn basic recruiting and networking skills, and develop abilities to constantly be identifying key contacts and maintaining those relationships, in order to generate a pipeline of highly qualified prospects for current and future career opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with other recruiting team members, in order to assist with development, implementation, and execution of hiring strategies for client groups
- Strategize with other HR and Recruiting team members as necessary, in order to stay synched up with client groups’ needs. This is especially important with supporting other remote sites’ recruiting needs.
- Assist with university recruiting and outreach efforts for full-time and intern/co-op recruiting needs
- Assist with job posting campaigns and maintenance
- Assist with creating and maintaining job descriptions
- Assist with proactive sourcing of candidates
- Assist with building and maintaining relationships with local and regional technical institutes for generating referral candidates
- Assist with recruiting outreach events at colleges and universities, as well as other niche orgs and groups
- Assist with communicating skills and experience needs to local and regional colleges and universities, in order to help implement new programs and tracks for future technician and engineering recruits
- Assist with researching aspect of sourcing strategies (includes identifying relevant academic programs; key contacts within schools, professional orgs, and niche groups; and companies that possess potential talent for SpaceX)
- Assist with management of database of networking contacts/professionals, cold/passive candidates, and general intelligence within our competitor and target companies
- Assist as needed with facilitating onsite interviews and candidate experience, scheduling and coordinating of interviews, and other day to day recruiting functions
Basic Qualifications:
- Must currently be enrolled at a four-year university or college studying Human Resources, Communication, Marketing, or other related discipline
- Must be available to work full-time at our McGregor, Texas, facility beginning December 2014/January 2015
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Prefer candidates with prior HR or Recruiting experience
- Excellent communication skills, including telephone communication skills
- Comfortable giving presentations in front of groups
- Charismatic and able to attract new talent to SpaceX
- Strong networking skills
- Keen with building and maintaining relationships with key contacts within academic institutions and different technical industries
- Able to distinguish between the top 50% and the top 5% of engineering talent within their respective fields
- Know how to balance getting things done quickly with getting things done superbly
- Fun to work with and a great team member
- Must be passionate about something; bonus points for those that want to help colonize Mars
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to work overtime and occasional weekends
