RF Design Engineer
 
Responsibilities:

  • RF system lead for SpaceX development vehicles (F9R-DEV, Pad Abort, In-Flight Abort, etc.)
  • Participate in design trades with interdisciplinary teams
  • RF subsystem specification, design, and analysis
  • Perform link budget analysis for a variety of mission profiles
  • Support integration during vehicle build and test
  • Define and support installation of RF ground support equipment
  • Support mission operations during test executions
  • Assist with ongoing product development for the F9 and Dragon vehicles
  • Assist in the development of in-house tools to automate pre and post mission data review
  • Interact and provide presentations for satellite launch customers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline with emphasis in electromagnetic theory or RF circuits 
  • Basic understanding of RF fundamentals and building blocks such as LNA’s, Antennas, Transmitters, Receivers, etc.
  • Competency in the operation of RF test equipment such as signal analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.

 
Preferred Skills and Experience:

  •  Basic understanding of communication theory a plus
  • Competency in Matlab, AWR, ADS, and/or HFSS a plus

 
Additional Requirements:

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
