Who We Want:

Bazaarvoice is looking for a motivated Commercial Market Development Manager that has demonstrable experience in establishing, cultivating and maintaining relationships with leadership level contacts within the Fortune 1000 environment. Those relationships should uncover opportunities to deploy Bazaarvoice solutions and yield deeper, more strategic, market insight. The desired candidate understands how to assess the needs of a family of Brands and cater the outreach to each Brand/Prospect specifically.

Persistence and attention to detail are vital to success in this role. We need self-motivated, high energy, sales professionals that can think strategically, are comfortable with conceptual & solution selling, and can create momentum within large and complex organizations. We want candidates that can do those things with passion and a good sense of humor. After all, if it’s not fun, it’s just a job and that’s not Bazaarvoice.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to articulate their ability to;

  • Properly research and catalog contact, account and opportunity information
  • Build and execute upon a realistic call plan
  • Manage time and territory to maximize velocity and penetration with businesses
    • Commercial: $50mm-$1B
    • Establish solid relationships with role players at the highest levels of an organization, particularly within the VP, EVP, and C-suite
    • Commercial MD's will move with greater velocity through their territories to expand Bazaarvoice's reach in the marketplace
    • Commercial MD's will expand, deepen, and broaden relationships to leverage momentum and increase the size of the opportunities they create
    • Expand relationships with prospects and clients, allowing them to take full advantage of the suite of Bazaarvoice's solutions

Effectively manage prospect/client expectations

Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
  • Effectively manage their bandwidth in the context of managing a portfolio of accounts
  • Work as part of a selling team, with a focus on managing relationships
  • Set expectations and deliver on those promises
  • Use effective sales techniques to uncover those customer needs that can be addressed through Bazaarvoice solutions
  • Articulate the benefits of using Bazaarvoice solutions to prospective customers across a broad array of industries with little or no supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred; Marketing, Business, MIS
  • Prior sales experience required; exposure to Solution Selling, Customer-Centric Selling, Sandler, or SPIN strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of Social solutions & their significance to our customers
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or other CRM applications is required
  • Demonstrated work ethic and consistent over-achievement
  • Work effectively with little supervision
  • Mentor others
  • Experience with selling ecommerce-focused SaaS solutions
  • The ability to learn quickly and be a self-starter are vital to this role

MDMs help bring definition to the Commercial sales universe, thus enabling our sales teams to deliver the right solutions to the right customers. We expect every team member to act with courage and conviction. This role is not for the faint of heart.
