GL Accountant (Austin, TX)
We need a high energy, hands-on individual with the people skills to work with individuals across the organization. This role will be in charge of and own aspects of account reconciliations and the month end close process. A successful candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in month-end close activities including ensuring all accounts are reconciled
- Manage cash transaction, posting, and bank reconciliation as well as report daily, monthly and quarterly cash flow
- Manage debt and various other long term liability accounts
- Manage equity accounting and reconciliations
- Prepare and record journal entries
- Coordinate yearly audit including preparing all supporting reports and documentation
- Monthly/Quarterly/Annual financial reporting (journal entries, reconciliation schedules, variance reporting, month-end closing, etc.)
- Assist in issuance of all monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements
- Adherence to GAAP with respect to all accounting interpretations and applications
- Assist is implementations of new policies and procedures
- Assist with other projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- BA/BS from top college/university in business administration, accounting, finance, or economics
- Big 4 experience is a plus
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
- CPA a plus
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus
- Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork - organizing and managing with multiple stakeholders and groups
- Self-motivated and self-managed - able to think independently, creatively, and opportunistically
