Director of Planning & Fulfillment
Overview:
A highly visible supply chain role that will oversee SpaceX’s Demand Planning and Material Fulfillment activities. This is a hands-on position responsible for developing a vision and executing plans that will enable SpaceX to achieve objectives for on-time delivery and inventory. Collaboration with other members of the supply chain, sales, marketing, and production teams is paramount to achieve these objectives. This position reports directly into the Vice President of Supply Chain.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the SpaceX Planning and Fulfillment team
- Collaborates with the SpaceX Sales team to develop an achievable manifest that meets Customer and SpaceX needs
- Responsible for creating an accurate demand plan of all material streams, including production, R&D and spare parts
- Assures the SpaceX MRP system is maintained properly, assuring data integrity and clear alignment of demand and supply
- Provides detailed monthly forecasts to manufacturing and Material teams of all customer orders for products
- Manages raw and finished goods inventory levels for all programs across the business
- Leads NPI inventory management planning responsible for phase-in / phase-out of products/materials to minimize the obsolescence risk
- Influence and communicate well with all levels of the organization including senior leadership, acting as primary supply chain owner for material planning and fulfillment
- Responsible for accurate product forecast and flowdown to manufacturing teams
- Develop tools and processes to manage planning and fulfillment organizations
- Launch EDI (electronic Data Interchange) communication platform with supply base to manage: planning and shipping schedules, reconcile cumulative quantities shipped, implement ASN’s
- Identifies and develops talent within the organization
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university and minimum 7 years’ experience with proven leadership in manufacturing/Service role.
- 5 years minimum experience with MRP planning systems and processes.
- Minimum of Green Belt Certification.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Leadership experience with complex bill of material products.
- Experience with development and implementation of in-house Enterprise and Material resource planning applications.
- Six Sigma trained with demonstrated ability to apply tools and process rigor.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in an ambiguous environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, energizing teams, and project management.
- Proven ability to drive and manage change initiatives in a matrix environment.
- Implementation of a homegrown ERP system.
- Ability to successfully motivate, and maintain high morale, employee involvement, safety and teamwork.
- Excellent project management, team building and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to drive innovation, execute plans and to think creatively.
- Agility to move between strategic and tactical operational issues.
- Proven and established record for process design and implementation.
- Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment.
- Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy.
- Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production.
