Dynamics Certification Engineer
Responsibilities:
Support in various U.S. Government (U.S. Air Force/NASA/NRO) launch vehicle certification tasks, including but not limited to
- Lead the preparation of certification documentation related to SpaceX spacecraft and launch vehicles supporting the NASA Commercial Crew program.
- Coordinate customer requirements within various cross-functional teams, including Avionics, GNC, Software, Propulsion, Structures, Materials & Processes, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Launch, Mission Ops, Mission Assurance and Mission Management.
- Review and analyze configuration changes relative to contractual requirements.
- Lead the definition, completion and submittal of design verification and other certification documentation.
- Provide engineering support for the integration of spacecraft systems.
- Provide engineering support for the development of system safety and reliability documents.
- Serve as liaison between SpaceX and the customer’s certification teams.
- Conduct customer-facing technical briefings such as Design Reviews and Test Readiness Reviews.
- Generate technical reports and analyses to support certification and verification activities.
- Generate and maintain a certification schedule for each project.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- At least 3 years of Industry Experience
- At least 1 year of technical project management experience
Preferred Skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, particularly in customer-facing settings
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
- Understanding of NASA and SMC standards are a plus
- Experience interacting with US Government a plus
ITAR Requirements:
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
