Avionics Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Working with design engineers to develop and document test procedures
  • Establishing and maintaining specialist test setups
  • Performing tests and recording test results
  • Working with design engineers to troubleshoot failures
  • Conducting tests at external specialist test houses
  • Read, interpret, and work from free form drawings as well as from controlled documentation and processes
  • Independently perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise, and complete manner
  • Validate parts lists for avionics hardware
  • Assist with the development of production processes for first time production runs

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required; an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education is acceptable
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Associates degree is preferred
  • Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment
  • Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and high accuracy
  • Ability to correctly and efficiently operate various hand tools and electronic assembly tools
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow build documentation
  • Some experience in space, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environments is highly desirable

Additional Requirements:

  • Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
