Software Developer - Intern
Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; and San Francisco, CA
You: a top-notch Computer Science or Software Engineering student looking for an internship at a leading edge company. Us: great company (Best Places to Work and all that), with incredibly talented engineers, making fabulous products -- products that make a real difference in how well web and mobile work. Our products bring about change, they leave an imprint. We are transforming the on-line experience of hundreds of millions of Internet and mobile users.
The users of our product are fellow software engineers. We give software developers unique visibility to how their SaaS applications are performing so they can make it better. We are providing SaaS products that deliver high-value functionality previously available only through expensive, complicated on-premise software. Our 90,000+ customers have discovered that they can deploy, receive deep diagnostics, and improve their web presence – and do it all before lunch. Fast enough for you??
But making it easy for our users is challenging, hard work on our side, requiring creativity, diligence, and a whole lot of (fun) collaboration among bright people. Including, perhaps, you.
This is not your average internship - You won't spend your days filing or copying, fetching coffee or putting together PowerPoint presentations. Rather, you'll dive headfirst into solving real problems and helping us build better technology and better software. At New Relic you are a full member of the team, delivering features, helping customers. Our interns ship code to production on their first day. Our interns work with the CEO and senior leadership on new features. You get real hands-on delivery experience.
We are looking for interns who are enthusiastic about Java, Python and/or Ruby. You probably understand multithreading, and may well code on both the browser and the server. Tell us about your relevant direct experience in university courses, capstone classes, and high-value open source projects. Got projects at Github or Stackoverflow or elsewhere? Tell us about those too, with links so we can roam through your great stuff.
Ready to go? Click on the link below. If you are serious about being an intern at New Relic, please take the time to write a thoughtful cover letter letting us know why are your interested and why we should choose you for this role. Cover letters matter to us, we really read them, so please don't apply without one. We will be hiring interns year round, so specify your availability.
These roles will be filled quickly, don't delay.
