Revenue Manager

The role will be responsible for the company wide revenue recognition policy, processes, and reporting. Will perform monthly and quarterly close activities for revenue, validate and reconcile all revenue related accounts, analyze data, and prepare reports for auditors and management. The Revenue Manager will be a key Finance liaison for the Sales and Legal teams in reviewing new business deals and arrangements for appropriate financial and revenue recognition considerations.
The right candidate is a high-energy, hands-on individual that has the ability to work independently providing advanced technical accounting expertise in support of the company’s revenue drivers and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of GAAP including expertise in ASC 605-25, ASC 985-605, ASU 2009-13 and ASU 2009-14.

Some of your responsibilities will be to:
- Partner with Sales (Deals?) Desk and Legal to ensure that new arrangements, projects, or partnerships maintain compliance with the Company’s revenue recognition policy
- Document non-standard and judgmental contractual items for review by the Financial management team
- Assist in the calculation of revenue to be recognized on multiple element arrangements
- Ensure all revenue recognized meets revenue criteria consistent with SAB 104 (ASC 605)
- Participate in the financial statement close process by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, or other analysis as requested.
- Collaborate with external auditors to explain key new arrangements and to determine the proper accounting for these items
- Help maintain the revenue recognition policy for changes in the business or for new product lines, and keep management updated of any new policies or projects
- Partner with various departments to design system enhancements, process changes, and other improvements in order to achieve scalability and to support new business initiatives.
- Ensure revenue recognition processes are SOX compliant
- Assist in various initiatives such as international expansion and the adoption of new accounting guidance.
- Perform contract review and accounting memo for complex multiple element revenue deals.
- Active CPA required including at least 3 years of experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm. At least 3 years of public company revenue recognition experience highly desired
- Knowledge of US GAAP revenue standards and related pronouncements and experience in their application for revenue recognition
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills
- Strong leadership skills and high degree of business and technical proficiency and judgment are essential
- Experience in technology sector highly valued
- Software and multiple element arrangement revenue recognition experience required
- Excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across multiple levels, functions, and locations
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
