We are looking for a talented developer with a DevOps mindset to join our backend engineering teams.
These teams write and run the mission-critical backend services of Prezi. We use many technologies, have lots of users and work with tons of data.
Challenges:
Participate in building a microservice architecture which scales, routes around failure and lets us build complex systems out of small components.
Move everything into the cloud (AWS), rethinking the assumptions that no longer hold in our current architecture.
Help us build our emerging JVM based stack (built on the Netflix open-source stack , mostly in Scala), which will power our next generation of services.
Open source some of the awesome things we’re working on.
Develop and maintain existing backend services (mostly written in Python) to ensure they are efficient, reliable and secure enough for our many million users.
Requirements:
We are looking for full stack engineers who can pick up any technology and run with it.
Enthusiasm for devops: we write it, we run it!
Brave enough to try new technologies. You can’t survive here if you’re tied to a single stack.
A solid background in software development of large-scale systems.
We’re not looking for BoFH s. “ Plays well with others, cleans up after him/herself ” should apply to you.
Sysadmin experience and good old unix skills are a big plus.
- We’re on-call for the systems we create. You won’t have to work at night if you did your job during the day (we rarely get woken up), but be prepared for automatic text messages and phone calls if you mess up.
What we offer you:
the chance to commit from day one
support improving your skills
people that will listen to your opinions and value them
the chance to work in our San Francisco office for a couple of weeks a year
the opportunity to go to tech conferences anywhere in the world
a really cool office environment to work in (or you can occasionally work from home if you feel like it)
free quality-food and a nice atmosphere all day long in the Prezi Bistro
the chance to receive stock options and become your own employer
