Machine Maintenance Shift Lead
Machine Maintenance Shift Lead will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance personnel to develop and implement strategies that achieve Maintenance and results which reflect continuous improvement. Coordinates all work activities and assists the Shift Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Be proficient in all maintenance tasks required to achieve Champion level support.
- On a daily basis, coordinate and monitor all maintenance personnel activities for Fabrication, Composite, Research, Assembly and Finishing support. This will include ticket prioritization and management, PM scheduling assistance and project ticket prioritization.
- Assists in the development and recommends changes in processes, equipment and labor utilization to achieve effective improvements and effectively meet the department goals and objectives.
- Ensures department housekeeping and sanitation standards meet company and governmental requirements.
- Ensure accurate and rapid repair of malfunctioning equipment and breakdowns to minimize loss of Production.
- Conducts training as required or recommends training to ensure fully assessed personnel and acceptable work performance levels are achieved. Makes recommendations to the Shift Supervisor for specific member training needs.
- Maintains good working relationship with vendors and contractors. Evaluates vendor services and recommends changes to improve services and cost reductions.
- Works with onsite inventory management to improve controls and improve spare parts and major components inventory.
- Monitors, tracks, and communicates downtime reporting, efficiencies, thru-puts, etc. and any associated paperwork reflecting maintenance performance.
- Influences employee compliance of safety rules, regulations, behavior and GMP practices.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervision and support groups in a timely manner regarding any problems, concerns and questions.
- Responsible for the safe performance of duties, adheres to plant safety rules and complies with GMP's.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 3 years Maintenance Technician experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and advanced electrical repair.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Capability to operate a forklift and other related inventory equipment.
- Experience within the Aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and drawings.
- Ability to write detailed repair reports (Advanced MS Office skills).
- Ability to use power tools and hand tools as well as heavy equipment.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company policies, quality policies and industry standards.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and demonstrate a high sense of urgency.
- Analytic thinker that gets to the root of the problem and comes up with permanent solution to remedy the issue.
- Ability to lift 25-30 lbs., lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
- Ability to work while standing on lifts and ladders.
- Must be open to working all required shift hours, including overtime, and weekends, as needed.
- Self-motivated and works well with others.
