New Relic more than doubled our revenue last year (as we did in the year prior, BTW!). More important for you, our opportunities with enterprise customers increased at a far greater rate. We added more than 500 Enterprise customers to our customer base, and have more eagerly awaiting our calls. New Relic is showing that large organizations are ready for SaaS APM solutions.

We now want to build on all of this amazing traction by adding a Director of World Wide Commercial Sales to extend this great work in smart, new ways. This is an opportunity to play a critical leadership role in managing a team that will be crucial to New Relic’s continued hyper growth. This role will lead and grow both our national and international commercial organization.

The right candidate has Sales in their DNA; s/he, is entrepreneurial, tenacious, and loves “the hunt”. Has demonstrated experience of over-quota achievement in an enterprise software sales environment and has proven track record of successfully managing individual contributor sales people.

Some of your responsibilities will be to:
  • Lead and manage Commercial Account Executives in achieving individual, team, and organizational quota
  • Drive and monitor account planning and execution to deliver maximum revenue potential
  • Define new models and processes to grow the commercial business
  • Grow and maintain effective business relationships with internal business groups to ensure maximum effectiveness of the sales organization
  • Prepare pitches and compelling visual presentations explaining the benefits of partnering with New Relic for all sizes of organizations
  • ……and that’s just the beginning.
To be considered seriously, you will likely have:
  • 8+ years experience of selling B2B software with at least 4+ years experience in a people manager role
  • Ability to build vision, understand and define requirements, design practical solutions, develop supporting business cases, and implement solutions for clients
  • Outstanding communication skills, being both outspoken and a good listener at the same time
  • Experienced negotiator, self-motivated, strong influencing skills
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • SaaS experience required and APM or analytics experience ideal
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or some related discipline is required.
