Are you excited about designing slick and intuitive interactive experiences for customers who want to make sense of their data? Do you find yourself browsing FlowingData or Visual.ly once in a while? At New Relic, we build a suite of SaaS app performance monitoring products. Our goal is to make it dead simple for developers to monitor their apps in real-time, and give them the data they need to make decisions that help them run their apps faster and better. 

As a UX designer at New Relic, you'll be working collaboratively with Design Team members, the Product Team, and our Executive Team to help us:
  • Lead projects as we branch out into new exciting product areas
  • Define the experience (both interaction and visual), and haveing a key influence on product strategy
  • Maintain design standards across our existing products
  • Improve our understanding of users' needs, through user research and usability testing
  • Improve or define our design processes and methods
To succeed in this mission (should you choose to accept it), you'll be conducting a healthy dose of UX design activities:
  • Whiteboard concepting and brainstorming
  • Conducting user research with potential or existing customers
  • Producing scenarios, wireframes, and mock-ups to evaluate and communicate your designs
  • Working closely with engineers to prototype, and provide continued guidance as a project evolves 
You'll stand out if you have:
  • 5+ years experience in a similar role
  • A strong portfolio of software product designs showing not just the end result, but your design process for getting there
  • Experience designing data visualizations
  • Experience creating UX deliverables in Photoshop or equivalent tools
  • Visual design skills
  • Nice to have: Web development skills (HTML, CSS, JS)
  • College degree in design or related field, or equivalent experience
