Bill of Materials Architect
Responsibilities:
- Will be responsible for maintaining engineering bill of materials [eBOM] data for assemblies at the launch vehicle assembly level.
- Translates launch vehicle orders created by Sales into top level assembly structures for use by Engineering and Production.
- Releases the initial revisions of vehicle identification numbers and incorporates any configuration changes as subsequent revisions.
- Advises Production Control team members of any pending configuration changes in advance of their formal introduction.
- Publishes the vehicle identification numbers to the various business systems used by Mission Management, Engineering, and Production.
- Creates CAD models that are representations of major assemblies and vehicle assemblies.
- Supports the as-built reconciliation configuration efforts in preparation for pre-shipment and flight readiness reviews.
- Audits eBOM data and CAD models that are published by Engineering for compliance with configuration management policies and protocols.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. in a science, math or technology field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with aerospace or automotive production coordination.
- Minimum of two years of experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) and/or material requirements planning (MRP).
Preferred Skills and Experience:B.S. in an engineering field or equivalent experience is desirable.
- Experience monitoring, tracking, and continually improving engineering bill of materials.
- Experience with applying effectivity schemes.
- Experience with NX and Teamcenter software applications.
- Knowledgeable with integration operations of both small-scale sub-assembly and large-scale major vehicle assembly levels.
- Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to read, interpret and follow:
- Schematics, circuit layouts, engineering drawings and parts lists of components.
- Cable harnesses: wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and parts lists.
- Mechanical assemblies: mechanical drawings and parts lists.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with Engineering and Production.
- Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment.
- Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be available to work all required hours, weekends, and any overtime, as necessary.
