Systems and Tools Automation Developer

We're looking for an accomplished software developer with a penchant for technical operations to help us build our infrastructure platform. In this role, you will be writing code to improve the framework in areas ranging from server provisioning APIs, orchestration engines, cutting edge monitoring, and continuous delivery pipelines. You'll work closely with both our world class development and operations engineering teams. Your customers today will be Box engineers building upon and using the platform; with the long term potential to expose the platform externally.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Mastery in at least one modern programming language; preference PHP, Python
- Strong familiarity with unit testing
- Comfort theoretically and practically with build systems
- Linux system configuration experience; preference Red Hat
- Experience with at least one mainstream web server technology (E.g. Apache, Nginx)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Comfort in a production operations environment
- Puppet/Chef/CFEngine experience
- Experience with system packaging tools; e.g. RPM
- SQL database programming experience
- Open source contributor / user / interest
- Strong ideas and opinions, but good listener
- Organized
- Energetic
- Strong desire to complete and satisfaction with a job well done
