Electrician

Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical systems, devices, equipment and components
  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of motor control centers, motor circuits, overloads, and disconnects
  • Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of generators, automatic transfer switches, and surge protection devices
  • Installation and troubleshooting of commercial lighting, receptacles, panels, circuits, and controls.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic devices
  • Installation of grounding and lightning protection systems
  • Perform work from instructions using blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Install electrical components according to current NEC code

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License, and a clean driving record

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree
  • 1 year of experience as an apprentice electrician
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of codes, rules, regulations and standards of electrical equipment
  • Good working knowledge of 3Ø low and medium voltage power distribution systems
  • Understanding of critical power and safety system design concepts
  • Ability to identify and implement efficient paths of action to finish the assigned work
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Familiarity with common trade hand and power tools and multimeters
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical manuals, schematics and reports
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments
  • Journeyman License desired
  • Master License is a plus

Additional Requirements:

  • General physical fitness is required for some work areas, flight hardware typically is built in tight quarters and physical dexterity is required, also the ability to lift heavy objects is required in this position >50lbs
  • Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings and climbing hand over hand
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
  • Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
  • Typically 50 hour work weeks, schedule varies depending on site operational needs, flexibility required
  • Overtime is frequently required for particular tasks or test series
