Ground Segment Software Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and deploy mission-critical software as part of a close-knit team of exceptional software and ground segment engineers
- Aid in the design, development, and test of the overall ground segment communication infrastructure
- Make upgrades and changes to existing systems
- Perform pre and post mission analyses
- Support and join the flight control team launching rockets and tracking spacecraft.
Basic Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or 4+ years of experience in software engineering
- Must have 2+ years of Python, C/C++, and Linux experience
- Must have 2+ years of experience with software radio architecture and strong RF fundamentals
Preferred Skills:
- Several years of software development experience including user interfaces
- Experience in software development and system integration on Linux platforms
- Solid software background with graphical and/or high-level programming languages such as C, C++, and/or LabVIEW
- Ability to generate technical documentation
- Experience with Satellite communications
- Experience with GNU Radio or similar signal processing libraries
- Experience with digital voice and/or audio communication systems
- Experience with CANopen development would be a plus
- Ability to translate specifications and functional descriptions into working code and intuitive interfaces
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel as required; travel will be less than 10% of the time to common destinations including Houston (NASA Johnson Space Center), McGregor (SpaceX Test Site in Texas), Cape Canaveral (SpaceX East Coast Launch Site), and Vandenberg (SpaceX West Coast Launch Site)

- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
