Instrumentation Components Engineer 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and test electromechanical sensors for aerospace applications
  • Rapidly resolve novel instrumentation challenges
  • Troubleshoot acceleration, pressure, acoustic, strain, position and thermal sensors
  • Hands-on hardware integration
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams
  • Provide design and production guidelines, requirements, and procedures to design and manufacturing engineers

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience identifying and fixing sensor signal quality issues 
  • Experience designing electromechanical components
  • Strong background in signal processing

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with 3D CAD, FEA, and electrical board design
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, industrial, aircraft, or instrumentation
  • Experience with Matlab, Excel, Labview, and National Instruments hardware
  • Experience with spectroscopy or gas sensors.
  • Experience with digital buses, wireless sensors, or fiber optic sensors.
  • Experience with accelerated life testing
  • Designing for high vibration environments
  • Strong enthusiasm for technology

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
