Job Objective
To develop members of the Shipping/ Receiving/ Inventory team within the Tooling Fabrication Organization. The aim must be to produce specific, measurable and actionable realistic processes which are consistently executed in a timely fashion. Performance must be adequately communicated to our customer while using co-developed data metrics to optimize on time delivery correctly the first time
Responsibilities
- Ensures rapid, accurate movement and processing of Tools, Piece Parts, Hardware and other miscellaneous items using co-established methods and standards.
- Develops standardized processes for customers: Standard Operating Procedures, Key Performance Indicators, Reporting Requirements, System & Hardware needs and compliance requirements.
- Liaisons with other support groups to ensure processes are cohesively established. Provides training and handoff to team to ensure they are properly servicing customers based on established requirements.
- Trains, assesses, motivates, coaches and evaluates associates in all areas of job duties using co-developed methods and standards.
- Responsible for quality of work for all associates; both exempt and non-exempt. Enforces policies and safety regulations.
- Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with other area supervisors.
- Conducts disciplinary meetings regarding job performance with associates in compliance with the company policies and procedures.
- Organizes and prioritizes daily work and staffing needs to meet production goals.
- Performs job applicant interviews and makes hiring decisions.
- Drives logistics & continuous improvement activities (storage, shipping) including: Inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics, receiving, planning & customer service.
- Communicates standard logistics metrics to direct reports. Resolves quality, service & cost issues.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in excel, word and PowerPoint
- Stellar communication skills both written and verbal
- Commitment to high professional ethical standards
- Must be well organized and able to multi-task, detail oriented while also working within time constraints and deadlines
- Excels at operating in an extremely fast paced environment
- Active problem solver
- Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance within the organization
- Strong ability to establish priorities in an ever changing environment
- High attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree (specifically business, management and transportation/logistics) preferred
- 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience in a custom manufacturing environment
