Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Product Quality Engineering to maintain consistency across the organization.
  • Create and implement action plans to rectify localized and systemic process breakdowns.
  • Develop and support area-specific Quality documentation for production activities, including preparation of Manufacturing Planning, Test Procedures, Manufacturing Procedures, Quality Planning, Control Plans, Flow Charts, Gage Studies, and SPC charts.
  • Initiate and lead continual improvement initiatives.
  • Use statistical methods to introduce and lead improvement plans.
  • Develop sampling plans; establish statistical confidence by identifying and monitoring sample size and acceptable error.
  • Use Lean techniques to eliminate waste in production processes.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of Process and Design FMEA’s and help maintain risk management policies and programs.
  • Develop, analyze, and present process metrics to production and senior management teams.
  • Maintain required First Article Inspections and Detail Inspection Plans.
  • Lead / facilitate high level material review, root cause, failure analysis, and corrective action; utilize various analysis tools and make corrective action and containment recommendations.
  • Provide training on quality policies and techniques.
  • Lead / facilitate complex problem identification, containment, and resolution.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits to find weaknesses and assess compliance to company, customer, and industry standards.
  • Design, implement, and analyze new quality management processes; analyze existing processes to identify risk and implement improvement plans.
  • Work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to improve process capabilities, controls, and efficiencies.
  • Develop, analyze, and present quality metrics to production and senior management teams.
  • Deliver customer-required documentation and support customer interface as required.
  • Support Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
  • Report results from product and process yield metrics to engineering and senior management to encourage design for manufacturability and quality.
  • Support the Material Review (MRB) process for all product design deviation nonconformances.

 
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in an engineering field.
  • 2 + years of experience in Quality Assurance, Production or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience working with CNC Machines. 
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning, Failure modes and effects analysis, Statistical Process Control, Metrology, Design of Experiments, or Control Plans is required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with product concept and realization.
  • Min 8 years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering with focus in Assembly, Integration, Supply Chain, Tooling, Electronics, Avionics, Propulsion Systems, or Composites is strongly desired.
  • ASQ Certification (CQM, CQE), RAB certified / trained auditor is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and team-building skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced /cross-functional environment.
  • Must be able to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
  • Some travel may be required.
