Senior Personnel Security Specialist/PSM

Overview:
Leverage experience with administering US government security policies and procedures, as it relates to the personnel security program.  Work as a senior security specialist providing personnel security expertise, ensuring initial and periodic re-investigations are accomplished in a timely manner, control access to classified information, and monitor facilities.  Maintain responsibility for ensuring regulatory control, including the receipt, accountability, and dissemination of security materials, receive, distribute, and process outgoing and incoming packages and mail, and prepare, send, receive, distribute employee visit certification, and log all data communications.  Schedule, coordinate, and conduct employee security education briefings, including initial indoctrination, foreign travel/contact, special topics and annual refresher training.  Instruct and assist with electronic questionnaires for investigations processing (EQIP), develop, manage, and maintain programs and security personnel database, and manage the security file plan.  Assist with managing the OPSEC, program security education, and training programs for all assigned personnel and manage the records database. Manage the incoming and outgoing visits notification system and maintain the visitor control register and logs. Assist with and advise in developing SOPs and security administrative processes to ensure adequate security management maintained and controlled. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot security alarms and intrusion detection systems, manage mark store, destroy all classified materials, and assist with the preparation of courier letters and packaging of program materials for sending by mail or courier. Act as a team player, exhibit flexibility, set priorities, and manage customer expectations in a fast-paced environment. Provide support with security clearance processing IAW the NISPOM, DCIDs, ICDs, and other government directives. Maintain responsibility for conducting security clearance pre-screens and other clearance related actions for personnel requiring clearances for collateral and SCI positions. Engage in sound decision making, perform independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions, communicating information to various audiences verbally and through written communications effectively. Interact daily with internal and external customers and government security officials to resolve issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of JCAVS, eQIP, JPAS and other personnel databases
  • Knowledge of NISPOM, DoD directives, EOs, or ICDs
  • TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly
  • BA or BS degree and 2 years of experience with personnel/industrial security or 4+ years of experience with personnel or industrial security in lieu of degree
  • Graduate of DSS courses Personnel Security Management and-Introduction to DoD Personnel Security Adjudication or equivalent training/experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with other security disciplines, including information and physical and their relationship to personnel security
  • Knowledge of government classified contract process
  • Possession of excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Prior experience working with NSS programs preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities, procedures, and information technology tools
  • Ability to interact well in cross-functional team meetings and professional environments
  • Ability to interface with internal and external customers
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Previous FSO certification/training desired or willing to obtain training required in order to get certification
  • Clearance: TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly is required upon hire and applicant must maintain eligibility in order to perform required duties.
