Senior Sheet Metal Technician (R&D)
Responsibilities:
- Extensive experience in precision sheet metal fabrication required.
- Complex programming using features of the press brake for bending angles, step bends, proper back gauge transfer between steps, delays, etc.
- Able to set up run operate press brakes, shears , drill press, timesaver and de-burring machines.
- Knowledge of precision equipment (scales, calipers, height gages, micrometers, etc.)
- Thorough understanding of flat pattern layout.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Preferably 10 years experience within related role.
- Experience with Amada HDS and RG press brakes.
- Water jet programming , run and operate (Flow).
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work 1st shift hours.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work significant overtime.
- Must be able to do layout, fabrication and assemble prototype as well as production hardware using blueprints, sketches, diagrams and verbal information from engineering.
- Must have full understanding of blueprint reading and geometrical tolerances related to a finished part.
- Must be able to hold close tolerances on sheet metal parts per engineering drawings.
- Must be able to operate forklift and overhead cranes.
- Ability to meet daily/weekly production goals and critical time schedules.
ITAR Requirements:
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
