We are looking for an engineering leader who wants the responsibility of defining, leading and executing the technical strategy for bitbucket.org, our Git & Mercurial source code hosting site. You will be leading a fast paced SaaS team that develops a hosted DVCS solution used by millions. You'll shape the team structure, product strategy, engineering processes and architecture and you'll be contributing to the broader growth and company culture of Atlassian. The position is located in our San Francisco office. You must be eligible to work in the US today. What You'll Do:
- Be a leader, moulding a creative culture for some of the smartest people in the industry
- Grow and coach your team members and team leads
- Take on responsibility for scaling Bitbucket to service millions of users
- Coordinate multiple streams of software development across two teams in San Francisco and Austin
- Work closely with the Product Managers to validate the roadmap, set priorities and provide estimates
- Work on a platform that currently serves about 100TB of data for millions of users
- Make and meet iteration and release plan commitments
- Use your inclusive management style to guide and grow your team and help them achieve their best performance
- Provide project visibility through well-chosen metrics and concise status reporting
- Ensure the quality of your product keeps getting better & better with each release
- Collaborate with Customer Support to ensure our customers success
- Promote, define, refine and enforce best practices and process improvements that fit Atlassian's Agile methodology
- Collaborate with your fellow Engineering Managers to share ideas that will continue to improve our awesome Engineering Group
