If you live and breathe the user experience, love solving problems and thrive on variety, Atlassian has a great opportunity. As a UX Design Lead, you'll work with a small group of designers on a specific product like JIRA, or on a specific focus area like Purchasing. You’ll be responsible for all parts of the Atlassian design process, including helping define vision, process and decisions, interaction design, user research and usability testing, and pixel-perfect quality assurance. You’ll also be the primary contact for design questions as you help other team designers go deep on the product to get the work done. You’ll make sure your product design is always as awesome and high quality as it can be, and have a constant vision for where your product is going in the future. More about youFor starters, you have a passion for elegant design, along with a broad knowledge of the software industry and software development project lifecycles. We’d love if you have 5+ years of hands-on experience as a UX Designer, Experience Architect or Interaction Designer. With that, you have a strong understanding of HTML, JS and CSS. You are likely well-versed in various research and design techniques like qualitative research methods, personas, wireframing, task analysis, sketching, prototyping, and usability testing. Other skills that are great for the job: being a self starter, following your gut, keeping things simple, being enthusiastic, being able to set and execute on clear deadlines, and knowing the importance of defining success metrics upfront for a design. It’s also essential that you can influence and work well across different teams. More about our teamIn one of our design team off-sites, we attended 'Circus Training' where we learned to juggle and fly on a trapeze. It was intimidating for some of us, but we wanted to push ourselves outside of our comfort zone and not be afraid to fail. We are constantly growing, learning, adapting and trying new things. You’ll be joining a team that is crazy smart and very direct. We challenge each other constantly to improve our work and ask hard questions. We're dedicated to agile methodology and big believers in 'lean', which means we don’t do documentation for documentation's sake. We also know all too well the importance of validating assumptions about users and use various types of testing to prove ourselves right (or wrong). It’s all about improving our user’s experience—no matter who or where it is. More about the perksOur offices are open, highly collaborative and yes, fun! To support you at work (and play) we offer some killer perks: ample time off to relax and recharge, five paid volunteer days a year for your favorite cause, plenty of food and drinks (including beer), ergonomic workstations with Aeron chairs, 20% work time for your passion projects, unique ShipIt days, a company paid trip after five years and more. More about AtlassianSoftware is changing the world, and we’re at the center of it all. With more than 35,000 global customers (including 85 of the Fortune 100) and a highly disruptive business model, we’re advancing the art of team collaboration with products like JIRA, Confluence and HipChat–and we’re just getting started. Driven by honest values, an amazing culture, and consistent revenue growth, we’re out to unleash the potential of every team. From Amsterdam and Austin to Sydney and San Francisco, we’re looking for people who are powered by passion and eager to do the best work of their lives in a highly autonomous yet collaborative, no B.S. environment.
