Atlassian is looking for an experienced marketing leader and go-getter to extend it leadership in the market for collaboration products for software teams. Your job is to channel this energy to develop and grow our leadership in providing the best collaborative products for modern software teams. This is the dream job for a data-driven, brand-oriented marketer hell-bent on wringing new customers from every sponge they can get their hands on.

Your primary mission is to help shape Atlassian’s go-to-market strategy for the software development market, elevating the recognition of Atlassian’s brand and artfully promoting Atlassian products. You are a dynamic leader, skilled communicator, and market hunter, with a history of demonstrating why and how good marketing changes businesses. You will be responsible for guiding all communications, direct marketing, event marketing, customer and community development, interactive and web production, product marketing and international marketing teams. Yours is a strategic role, helping shape and grow Atlassian’s business in a dynamic and new market.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and manage overall global marketing plans for the software development and market, and guide the teams associated with executing them

  • Create broad go-to-market campaigns and themes that grow product sales and brand strength in the market for collaboration products for software teams

  • Guide all direct marketing demand-generation tactics, including advertising, search marketing, content marketing, PR, and field/events marketing

  • Be the primary spokesperson and figurehead for Atlassian in that market

  • Guide design and online strategies, helping deliver superior performance and constantly improving conversion

  • Manage the marketing budget associated with all software development marketing activities and direct the spend to associated teams to execute plans you create and shape

  • Lead all marketing communications, public relations and social media strategies

  • Contribute significantly to the company strategy, leadership and culture

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 15+ years of related experience in building marketing, demand generation and demand conversion teams that consistently deliver shock-and-awe results.

  • Experience in the market for enterprise software development products desired.

  • No bullshit communicator, who listens carefully and communicates clearly

  • Excellent writing and verbal skills

  • Ability to quickly develop credibility at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to manage a large, distributed teams across multiple projects simultaneously, while still delivering razzle-dazzle as an individual

  • Ability to make operational management decisions in response to changing objectives

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and provide consistent, high-quality output

  • Ability to understand Atlassian strategies, markets and products, and apply those to marketing efforts

  • Strategic thinker with an emphasis on “going big”
