Corrosion Control Technician
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, prime, sand, seal, patch and paint furniture, surfaces, buildings, and fixtures utilizing all types of painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, water-proofing and heat resistant finishes
- Tape, flush, repair and apply texturing, wallpaper, and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces
- Operate, clean and maintain all painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, and pumps
- Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely
- Mix and match paints and varnishes to apply finishes to a wide variety of surfaces
- Erect scaffolding, rigging and ladders as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- At least 5 years of experience working with all types of painting materials in a commercial setting
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience applying ablative type coatings, preferably at a launch site
- Forklift and manlift proficient
- Self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, continually focusing on process improvements, streamlining and cost savings
- Ability to work with a team and independently
Additional Requirements:
- Medically able to wear a respirator and air supplied hood
- Able to work at heights over 50ft
- Willing to work significant over time, off-shifts, and weekends
- Willing to travel as needed
- Must pass Cape Canaveral Air Force background check
