About the job:
- We’re seeking talented engineers to help build the best telecommunications API on the planet.
- As an Automation Engineer you will be a part of the core engineering team developing the Twilio Client API.
- You will focus on test automation build-out and operations to ensure functionality, quality, performance and successful failover capabilities of the API.
- Successful candidates will be strong developers with experience shipping high-profile user-facing products, working in large code bases, and engineering features for security, scalability, & high availability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the quality effort in focusing on reliability and test automation.
- Evaluate current testing infrastructure to design and implement improvements.
- Develop and maintain automated test suite for the Twilio Client API stack.
- Bring automation to the next level in order to ensure 24/7 monitoring of the Client API stack.
- Analyze test results and collaborate with developers to verify changes.
Requirements:
- A Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 - 5+ years of professional software development experience in QA with at least 2 years of testing cloud-based applications.
- Programming background in languages such as Java and Python.
- Automation experience.
Bonus points:
- Understanding of the protocols used in our stack: SIP, WebRTC, RTMP.
- Experience using VoIP tools and test frameworks such as SIPp and SIPunit.
- Experience working with audio/video applications.
- You've developed an app using Twilio API stack.
- You can read SIP headers like a pro.
