ABOUT THE ROLE

Centro's technology team is building a suite of SaaS applications for streamlining digital media management. We help marketers and advertising agencies overcome entrenched challenges to improve the productivity and performance of their digital media teams, better manage costs and maximize profitability. Our customers live in our application many hours a day, negotiating, analyzing, and reconciling complex deals at blazing speed. We are looking for someone who is excited to work with a dedicated team of product managers, designers and developers to solve complicated problems.
 
The Developer Operations Engineer will be involved in building our next generation of development and deployment architectures, automating processes, building and supporting all environments from development through production.   This position will drive initiatives to achieve a network of service deployments backed by autonomous provisioning and monitoring systems, the dynamic creation and destruction of resources according to provisioning and performance profiles, and redundancy mechanisms that respond to system load and failure scenarios.
 
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write code to automate the creation and maintenance of distributed infrastructure
• Plan automated backups and fail-over configurations
• Scripting to support fully automated deployments
• Work with development team to profile and optimize architecture and infrastructure
• Explore new technologies to optimize the reliability and performance of our infrastructure automation
• Design and implement proactive monitoring to ensure health, performance and security of our production and non-production environments
• Develop capacity plans for new & existing environments
• Proactively make recommendations on upgrades or expansions to support the growing needs of the applications
• Produce high quality systems documentation
• Communicate concerns early and with clarity to impacted teams and management
• Assist in coordinating schedules for upgrades, downtimes or system impacts
• Work closely with development team to understand direction and potential future needs or requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 years experience in a developers operations or production operations role
• Proficient with scripting or languages
• Solid experience in automating infrastructure and deployment processes
• Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
• Ability to execute all tasks with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced start-up environment and be able to handle several projects and tasks simultaneously
• Must possess excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Experience with Linux (Red Hat and CentOS) and/or UNIX networks and systems
• Proficient with databases and SQL
• Proficient in debugging of system configurations and application code

 
EDUCATION 

• BS or BA in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, MIS or relevant technology degree
