Account Manager, Commercial Sales 

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Vice President of Commercial Sales and Business Development, the Account Manager will be responsible for the development, growth and maintenance of new and existing accounts for any of SpaceX products, including launch services using the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy to Satellite Operators and manufacturers. The entities not covered by this position are NASA and the US DoD.
  • Utilize professional selling and business development techniques combined with product knowledge to market SpaceX launch and other services.
  • Develop SpaceX Launch Services in designated region.
  • A particular area of focus in this position will be working with domestic satellite manufacturers to address business and technical issues that arise in working with SpaceX as well as with satellite operators worldwide.
  • Represent SpaceX in various forums and impart detailed information about SpaceX.
  • Support a minimum of 50% travel in support of designated region.
  • Ability to work from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering required.
  • Experience working in an engineering role.
  • Experience in business development at company focused on innovation.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a combination of development engineering as well as business functions is required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • MBA or Master's degree with business or engineering focused curriculum.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, French, German, or Italian.
  • Experience in launch services desired, but not required.
  • Demonstrated track record of closing deals in innovative companies where technical aptitude is needed to acquire client business and close sales deals.
  • Strong analytical skills on both business and technical issues.

ITAR Requirements:

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
