Buyer, Non-Flight
 

Responsibilities

  • Support Mission Operations, logistics/supply chain, propellants and other non-flight purchase requirements as needed
  • Analyze supplier spend and develop overall supplier negotiation and engagement strategies
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Identify process and toolset improvements
  • Realize cost savings and supply base management goals
  • Negotiate terms and prepare contract documents with suppliers. Evaluate and select best value supplier.
  • Study market prices and trends
  • Issue purchase orders and change orders.
  • Follow up with suppliers to meet delivery dates.
  • Create documentation for processes
  • Prepare presentations
  • Analyze procurement data and report metrics

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years purchasing experience required
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
  • Remarkable problem solving skills
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications, especially MS Office Suite
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
  • Conducts all activities with the highest of integrity

Preferred skills

  • Experience in non-production (MRO) purchasing preferred.
