Engineering Development Technician
Responsibilities:
- Independently fabricate harness assemblies and/or fabricating electro-mechanical assemblies from rough sketches. Validate parts lists for avionics hardware used in assembly.
- Support fabrication of development designs from preliminary drawings such as mechanical assembly of hardware units, soldering and wiring. Provide feedback to Responsible Design Engineer on assembly process improvement.
- Provide daily updates on projects using MS Outlook and Excel.
- Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment
- Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy.
- Independently perform verifications and documents results in a clear, precise and complete manner.
- Think creatively; question the status quo, while following documentation and maintaining prescribed quality standards.
Basic Qualifications:
- AS in Electronics or Electronics Technical certification and 3 years direct work experience acceptable.
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in related field.
- Must be able to read electrical and harness schematics.
- Must be able to operate DMM to perform continuity checks on harnesses.
- Must be able to solder 0201 components under microscope.
- Must know how to operate Windows based PC and Microsoft Office such as Excel and Word.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience fabricating harness and electro-mechanical assemblies and prototype development.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to read, interpret and follow drawings.
- Proficient with computers and the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software such as ERP or other related programs.
- NASA-STD-8739.3 certification preferred (Currently or previously held).
- NASA-STD-8739.4 certification preferred (Currently or previously held).
- Experience preferred in fast-paced Engineering environment with flight hardware.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to use power tools for cutting and drilling metal or plastic.
- Must know how to use measurement tools such as tape measure and calipers.
- Must be able to climb on ladder to reach shelved items.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time working on test beds

- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
