Telemetry Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all telemetry changes with avionics hardware, flight software, mission operations, launch operations and subsystem disciplines
- Coordinate all telemetry changes with government mission partners to ensure they are informed of changes and prepared to support missions
- Monitor testing of all telemetry systems
- Distribute telemetry format descriptions to government mission partners Distribute postlaunch telemetry files to government mission partners
- Coordinate and troubleshoot telemetry processing issues with mission partners
- Develop and maintain mission telemetry coverage plans
- Maintain telemetry description document
- Develop tools to analyze telemetry
- Utilize and support development of other telemetry tools by SpaceX
- Chair the telemetry external users working group
- Maintain cognizance of all telemetry configurations
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- 2-3 years professional work experience
- Programming Experience with one of the following: LabVIEW, MATLAB, C/C++, or Python
- Knowledge of IRIG or packet telemetry standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- EE or Computer Science Degree Preferred
- Telemetry or data communication background Highly desired
- Knowledge of communications and tracking networks
- Knowledge of space to ground communications techniques – modulation, multiplexing, error control coding
- Knowledge of internet protocols and packet processing
