Atlassian's development tools, like JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence and HipChat, help teams write code faster, smarter and more reliably. We want to bring that advantage to every development team in the world. Atlassian's tools are already used by millions of developers. If you want to improve the way software development is done, there's no better way to do it than with the Atlassian Add-on Platform. Our development partners have made millions of dollars through Atlassian Marketplace. As an Atlassian Developer Evangelist lead, you'll own and guide the team that builds the platform our development partners will be building on for the next ten years, and you'll promote that platform to developers around the world. We're embarking on ambitious new project to completely re-build the Atlassian Add-on Platform for modern web services. It's called Atlassian Connect, and you can read more about it in the docs. You'll work side-by-side with our team of platform developers to ensure that we're creating an API that you'll love to work with. Help us build a modern, web-native, API-focused platform from the ground up. Craft the developer experience that will wow every developer who wants to build on our platform. Own that experience from end to end as product owner, and strategy thinker. Platforms are pointless if no one builds on them, so this is not simply a developer role. Your team is responsible for building and growing the platform. You'll succeed with the developer experience you help guide and build, as well as the success of the developers who come through that experience. What you'll do: Spend half of your time building and half of your time writing and talking about what you did. Own the strategy, and guide a developer experience that is smooth and elegant. Build cool shit and showcase what's possible by example. Get out there – attend and present to technical conferences and meetups around the world. Brainstorm, propose, and run strategies to recruit and nurture new developers for the Atlassian platform. Help structure, organize and run Atlassian's global developer events. You're a good fit: Motivated, no-bullshit self-starter. Enthusiastic, creative, and pragmatic. Code chops: three years development experience in a software role. Java experience helpful, degree or relevant work experience. Passionate about the web as a platform. Intimate with Agile development methods. Experience managing a team, experience managing a developer ecosystem as a bonus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bonus points if you've spoken and written publicly (e.g., conference speaker, blogger, etc.). Excellent prioritization skills to identify and deliver the most important things first. Willingness to travel (one week/month). Show us something: Bitbucket or GitHub repository Slides or videos of a talk you gave, blog post on a technical topic Tech-related Twitter account or other developer followers Documentation you created, API you designed, or just one you think is really good Atlassian, Inc., will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of SFPC Art.49.
