Description

Developer Evangelist at Atlassian

Atlassian's development tools, like JIRA, Bitbucket and HipChat, help teams write code faster, smarter and more reliably. We want to bring that advantage to every development team in the world. We're improving the whole software industry, one team at a time.

Atlassian's tools are used by millions of developers around the world. So if you want to improve the way software development gets done, there's no better way to do it than with the Atlassian Platform.

We're embarking on ambitious new project to completely re-build the Atlassian add-on platform for modern web services. It's called Atlassian Connect, and you can read more about it in the docs

We have an amazing ecosystem of developers who extend our development tools with add-ons and integrations. Our partners have already made millions of dollars through our Marketplace. As an Atlassian Developer Evangelist, you'll promote our platform opportunity to developers around the world.

Your team is responsible for building and growing the platform. You'll ensure a great developer experience and you'll personally show developers how to succeed. We are dedicated to helping these developers build great businesses. Your success depends on developers you attract to the Atlassian ecosystem, the new add-ons the create and the success of the businesses that they start.

What you'll do:

  • Think with the mind of the developer at all times.
  • Promote our platform and the opportunity it represents.
  • Attract and convince new developers to build on our platform.
  • Generate marketing videos and blogs with the technical precision developers expect and the fun 'X factor' that they admire.
  • Collect feedback from developers and help drive our platform forward.
  • Get out there – attend and present to technical conferences and meetups around the world.
  • Recruit and nurture new developers for the Atlassian platform.
  • Cultivate relationships with developers in our ecosystem and represent their needs.
  • Support their businesses and promote them to Atlassian's millions of users.
  • Help structure, organize and run Atlassian's global developer events.

You're a good fit:

  • Motivated, no-bullshit self-starter. Enthusiastic, creative, and pragmatic.
  • Passionate about the web as a platform.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bonus points if you've spoken and written publicly (e.g., conference speaker, blogger, etc.).
  • Excellent prioritization skills to identify and deliver the most important things first.
  • BS/BA degree, CS helpful or equivalent work experience.
  • Willingness to travel (one week/month).

Show us something:

  • Blog post or other writing on a technical topic
  • Tech-related Twitter account
  • Documentation you created
  • Bitbucket or GitHub repository
