Channel Partner Manager - Gengo - Job Board

About the role
The Channel Partner Manager works in our San Mateo Sales team, managing the relationship with multiple partners who resell Gengo translation through their platform. We are unique to the translation industry, and our channel business is growing rapidly, including partners like ChannelAdvisor, Google, Amazon, and multiple translation technology systems. Your job is to help onboard new partners brought in by our Account Executives, to manage the relationship over the long term, co-market with the partner to their customers, and report on channel activities to management. The role requires a mixture of great people skills, problem solving with our internal team, and an eye for opportunities to make partners happy. Many of our partners are overseas, so you need to be as effective online as in person. You must be comfortable thinking about revenue, and excited about the opportunity to maximize your compensation through increasing channel sales. 

Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the close. You are part of the team that closes channel partnerships, in collaboration with our Account Executives, Project Managers and Sales Engineers. 
  • Once a channel starts to work with Gengo, your primary responsibility is to ensure a success for the partner and us. You’ll be working closely with your Account Executive, Project Manager and Sales Engineer colleagues as the voice of the partner, particularly on their customers’ expectations of translation quality and delivery schedules.
  • You’ll manage a roster of partners over the long-term, maximizing revenue through each channel, and collaborating with the channel on marketing to their customers.
  • You will report to management on channel activity, with a strong understanding of how each channel is performing, and informed opinion on opportunities for growth.
  • Continuous learning about our partners and their users is a must. Our company grows quickly, so there is a great opportunity for advancement for the right person

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in a quota-based Channel Management role, meeting/exceeding quota
  • Managed multiple channel relationships concurrently with annual revenue > $1 million
  • Experience successfully increasing volume by co-marketing with online channels
  • Strong references from former employers and partners
  • 2+ years experience using a CRM and/or channel management system
  • Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with web technology 
  • An international attitude –excited to help customers go global, happy on videoconf
  • Excitement about a small startup (our US team is 12 people, with 50 total at Gengo)
  • Experience in the translation industry, or a 2nd language, is a bonus but not required
