It ain't easy running a web app with over 60 million users, but we do it anyway -- and with just a few people. This team does it all. They tame MySQL replication one day, implement a brand-new feature the next, and push it all out that night. They love being responsible for whole systems, and they love scaling those systems to the next level.
YOU ARE
- A curious and ambitious engineer that has a knack for taming traffic and scaling applications
- You have the ability to quickly learn and implement unfamiliar technologies and the desire to jump into the thorniest technical problems whenever necessary
YOU WILL
- Develop and maintain all aspects of operations infrastructure
- Create next-gen infrastructure supporting changing requirements
- Predict scaling problems before they occur
- Employ preventive measures to maintain high availability servers
YOU HAVE
- 3-5 years experience in site operations
- Strong software engineering, database, system administration, and infrastructure management skills
- Managed operations and infrastructure for a large-scale website
- Familiarity with the following technologies: Rails 3.x, Automation experience with Chef/Puppet, HAProxy, Nagios, Cacti, Memcached, and GIT
- Database management in MySQL, and overall Linux knowledge
- BA/BS in Computer Science
