Senior Software Engineer - Payment System
It ain't easy running a web app with over 60 million users, but we do it anyway. We're a lean team of engineers that operates one of the largest RoR applications, uses agile methodologies, and relies on data to test and iterate quickly. One of the most important pieces of our application infrastructure is our payment system, which manages recurring billing for Lumosity’s large and growing subscriber base. It’s a thing of beauty, rewritten from the ground up in 2013 to support our continued growth in web, mobile, and international markets, and it’s absolutely crucial to our continued success as a business. We’re looking for thoughtful, careful, and highly motivated software engineers to focus exclusively on this hugely important part of our codebase.

YOU WILL
- Write clean, thoughtful, transparent, and maintainable code
- Build, maintain, and improve a large-scale payment system in production
- Work with brilliant people across many disciplines -- data engineering, finance, customer service, and operations to name a few!
YOU HAVE
- Previous experience working with payment processors and processor integrations in production and at scale
- Previous experience debugging and solving real user issues for production webapps
- Command of your favorite object-oriented programming language: Ruby, Python, Perl, Java, Objective-C, C++, etc.
- Battle-worn MySQL knowledge
- Nice to have: mobile engineering experience (iOS, Android)
- Nice to have: some background/experience in the financial or business sector
