[New Relic] Director, Talent Acquisition

New Relic
Director, Talent Acquisition
San Francisco, CA

Are you a great talent acquisition leader, capable of driving a high-impact, agile global people-provisioning function? New Relic is a fast-growing and successful web services company, presently 500+ employees. We have a great rep for the quality of work life, tens of thousands of customers, and significant revenues (along with over $200M from top-tier investors).

We have been able to manage exceptional growth – 100% each year – but are now at a size that we need to build the systems that allow us to continue to scale at this rate.

The right candidate for this job thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a bias for action. S/he is able to build high-trust partnerships with management and employees, and has a passion for building world-class recruiting programs and processes. This person also puts a very high value on the quality of experience provided to candidates and hiring managers alike.

This person will report the VP, People Operations and will work closely with him to:
  • Develop and implement workforce plans, forecasting capabilities and a talent pipeline strategy.
  • Provide direction and consultation to the management team on strategic and emerging staffing trends.
  • Ensure that the recruiting function is capable and well aligned with the vision and goals of the organization.
  • Build a data-driven recruiting organization, including analytics that provide insight and decision support.
  • Develop vendor, contingent workforce and process/program management solutions.
  • Manage employer branding, posting optimization, and innovative candidate sourcing strategies.
  • Develop optimal interview skills across the company to ensure we hire the best fit.
  • Develop our university and intern recruiting programs.
  • Lead diversity recruiting initiatives.

What you need to have:
  • 10+ years of talent acquisition and management experience
  • 3+ years of experience devising and leading talent strategy in a fast-growth tech environment
  • Experience with employment branding, sourcing strategies, and building robust pipeline of diverse talent
  • Passion about data and metrics, and experience creating and managing a context of recruiting effectiveness data
  • Experience with social media campaigns and savvy internet research efforts
  • Strong experience in workforce planning, forecasting and developing ensuring appropriate resource plans for the recruiting function.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
  • Global recruiting experience highly desirable

Note: You will be a manager in a company where a (perhaps, the) core commitment of every manger is to discover and develop the essential “greatness” that lives in every person. We will be assessing your background and cover letter for evidence of this commitment.

A little about us:

Our comprehensive SaaS-based solution for web and mobile applications consolidates the performance monitoring data into a single, powerful interface. Our 90,000 customers use New Relic every day to optimize more than three million applications.

New Relic is a San Francisco Best Places to Work award winner, an Oregon “Top Workplace” award winner, named a leader in the Gartner’s 2013 “Magic Quadrant” for APM companies, a Top 100 OnDemand Company, Best of SaaS (THINKStrategies), Top 100 Coolest Cloud Computing (CRN); 10 Cloud Management Companies to Watch (NetworkWorld) – the list of accolades goes on. More important than all of that: we provide challenging work, opportunities to learn, high quality teammates, a standard-setting product, and a company on the move.

Our office is in the tech-rich urban center of San Francisco, with easy commute access and a plethora of good eats. We provide competitive compensation, including stock options, and big-company benefits (medical, dental, great snacks, etc.) -- all while maintaining the energy, agility and fun of a start-up.

New Relic is most decidedly an equal opportunity employer. We eagerly seek applicants of diverse background and hire without regard to race, color, gender, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, individuals with disabilities, age, sexual orientation, protected veterans, or any other characteristic protected by law. Note: Our stewardship of the data of many thousands of customers means that a criminal background check is required to join New Relic.  We will, nonetheless, consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accord with applicable law, including the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
