We are looking for a Product Manager with a mix of real software skills and business savvy. You could even be a developer who has done ‘some’ product management and are ready to take the leap. At New Relic, you will be a core member of the team responsible for framing product strategy and vision, relations with customers and eco-system and partners, and working with Engineering management to oversee progress of development efforts. You will impact time-to-market and customer value, and, though these, will help drive continued company growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities:
  • Contribute to a long term product vision, help build the roadmap
  • Identify significant unmet market needs that leverage New Relic’s core technologies, strengths and market leadership
  • Drive product priorities through the entire development cycle (in collaboration with Engineering, Marketing, and partners)
  • Integrate usability studies, research, and market analysis into product requirements 
  • Participate in customer facing events and user conferences as a product expert
  • Take ownership for outcomes - proactively work the critical path and anticipate potential risks, putting appropriate mitigation plans in place

Skills and Experience:
  • 5+ years software product management – or software development with product planning responsibilities
  • Experience as either a software developer and knowledge of web services technologies
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead via influence, patience and determination
  • A market and customer view of the product is essential
  • Outstanding analytical/problem-solving skills
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field

You may get special attention if you also have:
  • A background in web development, high performance JavaScript or web performance optimization
  • Experience managing an online product/service from inception to delivery
  • Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, resource allocation, project management, and schedule development
