ABOUT THE ROLE
 
Reporting to and supporting the Assistant Controller and Senior Accountants, the Staff Accountant will be carrying out responsibilities around the Company’s organizational structure and the functions of the Accounting Department. These responsibilities include (i) recording journal entries and preparing reconciliations during the monthly close process, (ii) assisting the team with financial statement preparation and analysis, (iii) reviewing and coding expenses to appropriate general ledger accounts, and (iv) coordinating with the Finance Department for reconciliation of various accounts including actual to budget variances.
 
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and expense coding of operating expense invoices
• Reconcile and record entries relating to accounts such as cash, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses
• Preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports
• Assist Senior Accountant with reconciliation of employee benefits
• Involvement in the budgeting/forecasting process
• Review/audit and recording of employee travel expenses and Company credit cards
• Management of fixed assets and depreciation schedules for assets across all offices
• Assist with preparation of audit requests
• Maintain policies and procedures and utilize best practices

 
QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in accounting, is preferred
• 1-2 years of accounting work experience is preferred
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping / general ledger transactions
• Highly proficient in MS Excel
• Ability to quickly learn new systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize and resolve variances
• Willingness to work the hours necessary to meet close and reporting deadlines
• Ability to take on multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize work
• Experience with NetSuite a plus
