About the job

At Wooga, we have a mission: to create games that everybody plays, every day. We want to bring storytelling to a new level in free to play games. This is why we need your outstanding storytelling expertise to create a truly engaging game experience together with the writing team. As a Narrative Designer/Director you will  be responsible for how story is told in our game, how it enhances and supports the gameplay and creates emotional connections in the game.

  • Kick-start new game projects, provide vision and direction for the stories of those projects.
  • Be the expert and go-to person for storytelling and writing in our studio, which is focussed on adventure games.
  • Build up, train and coach a team of writers to take over specific writing responsibilities.
  • Organize and manage a team of writers working in parallel; structure their workflow.
  • Work closely with product managers, game designers and artists to develop a flawless game in which all components – including the story – work well together.

Who we are looking for

  • Degree in one of the following fields: English Literature, Communications, Screenwriting, or Game Design with a focus on Story Writing.
  • 5+ years of experience in the gaming industry, preferably episodic content.
  • Experience leading a team of writers working in parallel.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Ability to structure work and increase your team’s efficiency.
  • Ability to work with different characters and job groups.
  • Deep understanding of gameplay and how to fit in the story.
  • Networking ability, knowing people in the industry, e.g. potential fits for specific writing assignments.
