[Artsy] Managing Editor

Managing Editor

Artsy seeks a Managing Editor to join the editorial team. Within the company’s mission to make art accessible to anyone with an internet connection, the editorial team’s aim is to tell the stories around art and art-making. From in-depth profiles on artists and curators to coverage of international art fairs, we produce timely, engaging, and educational content around artists and artworks on the site.

Your primary responsibility will be overseeing and scaling operations around editorial production, including overseeing and tracking deadlines, budget, assignments, calendars, and editorial hiring; liaising between the product team and Editorial Director on product development; and working with the Digital Marketing team to carefully track and analyze analytics. Life at Artsy embodies the unique combination of Art + Science, and you will collaborate across the Arts, Communications, Product, Digital Marketing, Social Media, and Operations teams, working with leading arts professionals and world-class designers and engineers.

You should be meticulously organized; an experienced manager and project manager—including defining goals, allocating resources, planning and scheduling roadmap, and delivering results; obsessed with efficiency and quality; confident overseeing many of projects simultaneously; have in-depth knowledge of CMSs, project management platforms, and analytics tools; and get a thrill out of working in a fast-paced environment. You have a passion for art and, equally, you like to nerd out on innovative new platforms dedicated to project management and performance analytics. You’re excited to work at a startup that’s quickly growing, and you work well both independently and as a team member.

The ideal candidate for this position is an individual who has 4+ years experience in the digital content environment, ideally in an operations-focused editorial position. Candidates with a copyediting and art background a plus. This position will report to the Editorial Director.

To apply, please email a resumé and a cover letter to managing_editor@artsy.net.
