Description

Love staying ahead of the growth curve and experimenting with new software and environments? Get on board as an Atlassian Systems Engineer. As part of a project team, you’ll be testing and deciding on technologies to use, proof of concepts, along with production roll-outs and implementations. You’ll design and build solutions to solve technical problems--small and large--from BAU, fault finding/fixing and hardware issues to application trouble shooting. Some projects might include: implementing hardware or virtualized delivery systems, automation (like provisioning systems), monitoring and data collection network design and connectivity web and proxy services, email routing, DNS, and configuration management (we use fab, puppet, FAI). One thing we promise: you’ll never be bored.

More about you

We’d love if you have experience working with Apache, Nginx, Bash, Linux, AWS, virtualization technologies, Nagios, Python, Puppet and yes, Atlassian products too if possible. The best person for this role is someone that is an objective decision-maker with a collaborative spirit. And in our world, it’s not about being a hero and having all the answers, it’s about sometimes saying "I don't know" and working on finding solutions rather than starting with an assumption. This role would be a great fit for someone that likes to see concrete results from their work as you will be developing and delivering solutions that operate at scale - seeing your own technology efforts grow and evolve, from a proof of concept to hosting 50,000+ VMs running in production.

Atlasssian Service Operations are a recently formed, and rapidly growing group within the organisation. We are in the process of building our teams, tools and systems as part of Atlassian's mission to build World Class SaaS services. This is a truly exciting team to join - we are currently or are planning to be involved with all services company wide.

We are at the core of learning for the company, enabling Atlassian to go fast by providing real time feedback on production systems. We work side by side with the product family and platform developers to maintain and improve services and performance. We are a heavily data driven team, utilising a variety of data collection, enrichment, analytics and visualisations to learn about complex systems.
