About the job:

  • We’re seeking talented engineers to help build the best web telecommunications API on the planet.
  • As a JavaScript Engineer you will be a part of our SDK Engineering team.
  • You will bring the power of Twilio and the latest real-time communications technologies to the Twilio’s JavaScript library.
  • You will tackle some of the most challenging problems in web communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on Twilio’s JavaScript SDK architecture to implement the latest real-time communications standards.
  • Collaborate with product management to define, architect, and build new customer-facing JavaScript SDK features.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and work with the SDK Engineering Team to identify, resolve and triage production issues.
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality, reliability and availability of our infrastructure. 

Requirements:

  • You are a JavaScript expert comfortable working in a Node.js environment.
  • You keep up to speed with the latest JavaScript libraries.
  • You have played with WebRTC and can't get enough of it.
  • REST APIs and WebSockets are second nature to you.
  • You have enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced startup. We ship to thousands of people on a very regular basis with tight schedules and small teams, and it takes a certain kind of energy and drive to get it done!
  • You are passionate. Persistent. Creative. You find clever ways around problems, or just plow through them.

Bonus points:

  • You've written Node.js bindings for C/C++ libraries.
  • You work with audio/video applications and SIP.
  • You contribute to or maintain an open source project.
  • You've developed an app using Twilio API.
